The following is a general description of the work:

Parking Lot Resurfacing – 24 Snyder Avenue South, Elmira (Woolwich Memorial Centre)

The project involves the removal of existing asphalt, gravel surfaces, and select site features, followed by the construction of a new, fully paved parking lot designed to improve functionality, accessibility, and overall site organization. The redesigned layout will provide approximately 133 parking spaces, including 6 barrier-free spaces and 6 dedicated horse carriage parking spaces, along with defined drive aisles, improved circulation, and enhanced pedestrian connections through the addition of concrete sidewalks and tactile walking surface indicators.

Grading improvements will establish appropriate slopes to direct runoff while maintaining accessibility and safety standards. Overall, the project is intended to modernize the existing parking area, increase capacity, improve accessibility, and enhance safety for all users, while aligning with current municipal standards and supporting the operational needs of the facility and surrounding community.

This project includes asphalt removal, granular base excavation, placement of granular, compaction of granular base, fine grading, concrete work, asphalt paving, pavement markings and restoration.

Not included within this tender is the installation of parking lot lighting. The parking lot paving program will be completed in two phases. The first phase will involve removal of all existing asphalt within the scope of work. Once the first phase has concluded, an electrician contracted by the Township will open trench through the parking lot and install streetlighting. This work is anticipated to occur over 2 weeks. Once the parking lot lighting is complete, the awarded contractor shall return to remove and replace granulars, complete compaction, fine grading, two lifts of HL4, totalling 120mm asphalt thickness, pavement markings and final restoration.
